Thursday July 16th, we roll out a new Growler program. No, it's not a discount program, our growler prices are pretty low to begin with. It's a cool program which will bring you some really tough stuff on tap, including the possibility of an occasional cask or firkin. That depends on how well the program is received by you guys.
What exactly is the program?
Details will come soon, but I think you will all think it is a good idea. At least I hope you will.

Myself, Rich, and Randy took a ride out to East Northport to check out the newest beer bar here on L.I. We were not disappointed! I saw the long line of tap handles, and was impressed. My eyes froze on the Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock. This is one of my absolute favorites, and one I have never had on tap. It was, simply stated, amazing! I spoke to Jim, who is the bartender, and, I think a partner. Nice guy. He wants this place to be a destination, and I think it is well on it's way. Check it out for yourself..................

Today From 2-6PM Renee from Ommegang will be here pouring samples & talking beer with us. Some of you will recognize her from beer shows, or being a "tastee" at some of our in store tastings! She is yet another of our friends to go from beer enthusiast to beer industry employee!
She will be pouring the usual great stuff from Ommegang, plus for the early birds, I will crack open a bottle of Chocolate Indulgence! We will also have the Witte on tap for growler fills.
Come down & sample the goods, and enjoy some of my, as coined by Phil E. "Beer-B-Q" as I will be heating up the grill for some tasty treats!

I've been having a hard time keeping up with things. I realized that this means I am also not doing a good job of keeping you all posted on what's new, what's on tap, beer events, tastings, etc.
I am gearing up to get all this back on track, as well as updating the beer list on the website. I am about 75-90 beers behind.
I also will be adding a bunch more photos to the photo gallery. Keep an eye out for yourself!
I have just scheduled a bunch of tasting for the summer, and will be posting that info soon.
I am running a 2nd Charity Beer Tasting on 8/13. Details are coming!

A New Manager Has Been Found! He Starts Next Week.

I would like to thank the many of you who expressed interest in working here. Once again, I was surprised to see how many people responded.
The new guy starts this coming week. His name is Mike Ryan, and many of you will recognize him, as he is a customer & frequent visitor. His beer knowledge is good, not Rich Thatcher good, (but how many of us are Rich Thatcher good?) and he is very interested in learning more. He has been assisting customers & making recommendations for a long time here, which is what gave him the edge. Iv'e been able to watch him in action, and he is pretty good! He also REALLY wants to work here. He left his other job to work in the beer biz. It was a bold leap on his part, but as he said, "I like you, I like the people that come here, I like the atmosphere here, and I like beer!" I think this will be fun.
Rich will not be leaving right away, he will be here full time for another week, and will be staying on as a sales guy/ beer guy/ friend for at least a little while. His main hours will be Friday 4-8 and Saturday 2-8. He will fill in a bit as well, but that will all depend on his new job and his available hours. I, for one, hope that he will be able to do the Friday/Saturday thing for a long while. It's nice to have Rich around, no matter what his role.
But let's welcome Mike. Stop in and say hi & introduce yourself. He's a good guy, funny too. I hope that he is around for a long time, and I know that he will be an asset to both you guys and me.

I know it's a bit late, and that some of you showed up today looking for it but there was, and still is a misunderstanding with the prices that I paid. I tried to get a call in to the store that it was purchased from to figure out what the prices were, but I am still waiting for a call back. But......I don't want to hold this up any longer, so I just made some stuff up! I figure the margin of error is only +/- $2.00, so what the hell! Let's get moving on this. If the price is less after I get the numbers straight, I'll credit you on the next purchase.

Well, it's time to get together the six pack of mixed stuff. Problem is, I am confused by the receipt that I got for all of this beer. I have to wait on a price for you, but here is the scoop, or the semi-scoop.....

I have quite a haul to make up this six pack from. I will say this though, keep paying attention as I have enough to release a few more sixers of mixed goodies over the next few weeks or so.
