Merry Christmas Everyone!

Good Morning & Merry Christmas!
I have just a couple of minutes of quiet to write a note to you, my customers, my friends.
I hope this note finds all of you happy , healthy, and doing whatever it is that makes your Christmas morning special. For me, it is a morning I take a quiet moment, just before the madness, to reflect on the last year, and post some of my thought here.
Once again, I am overwhelmed by what my store has become. As always, while I will never be the biggest, busiest, or richest store around, as that is not my true goal, I always have what I have. And that my friends, is a place that I go to work at that never disappoints me. I never dread going to work. I know that when I get there, I will be seeing people that I enjoy seeing and talking to. I shake so many hands each day, that sometimes I feel like I am running for office. During the holidays especially, I give and get so many handshakes, hugs, kisses, and nice greetings that I feel like I am at some kind of family reunion! For me, it is a special feeling. Sometimes I think "I'm just the beer guy, how cool is this?"
I feel like I have so many friends here at the store that the line between customers and friends completely gets blurred, so I guess in the case of what I call "the Bellport Cold Beer & Soda family" really is that. There is no blurred line. It has just been removed. It's a unique situation that I am privileged to call my own!
I was told by a customer a little while back, after maybe his 3rd or 4th visit that he really enjoyed the atmosphere here, and that he looked forward to stopping by every few weeks to see his new friends. He said I should put a sign above the front door that reads "Enter as a stranger, leave as a friend" I kind of like that. I think that I am going to try to find someone who makes old style wooden signs to make one for me. I think he really hit it on the head.
So to all of you, my friends, I say Merry Christmas, and I know I missed my Happy Hanukkah post, so I hope it was happy for all of you.
Thank you all for your business, your friendship, and your kind words and gestures.
Dave
