Another Great Tasting!!! Thanks To Elizabeth From Dogfish Head!
Last Saturdays Dogfish Head Tasting was the second HUGE tasting in a row. The nice crowd enjoyed themselves, the beers, and the company of other beerfolk. The 120 minute on tap was well received, even by those who said that they didn't like it in the bottle. It was malty & oh so goooood! Much more well balanced than the fresh bottles. Dogfish Head tells you to cellar this for a reason. I like it fresh, but it is way better with a year or two on it. We have a little left for growler fills, but I doubt it will last the weekend.
Elizabeth did a great job pouring samples and explaining the whys, what's, and hows of Dogfish Head. I am always happy to have someone with her wealth of knowledge doing a tasting in my store. Those in attendance quickly understood why I hold her in such high regard. sampled on Saturday were 60 minute (tap) 90 Minute, 120 Minute (tap), Indian Brown, Chicory Stout, Midas Touch, Olde School, & 750's of Fort & Pangaea, which many people had never tried & it flew off the shelves.
This was one of the best attended tastings we have had, rivaling the Captain Lawrence tasting for mass congestion at the front of the store! Of course I fired up the grill for 60 Minute IPA infused sweet & hot Italian sausage, followed up by hot wings in a special sauce I concocted. All were well received, and appreciated. Which, of course, makes me happy to continue the grilling for future tastings.
Thanks to all who came. I am glad you all enjoyed yourselves!
