Captain Lawrence Tasting Update
OK, OK, after being prodded by a few of the people who are "in the know" I am going to post some of the more interesting stuff that will be happening at this tasting. I still have some of what I call "operatives" who travel quite a bit & pick up things for me here & there. So, I have a few hidden gems that have been sitting in the cooler, out of sight of everyone.
I will have some Rosso E Morrone for tasting & a limited number of bottles for sale! There will be no reserving of these, and it will be limited to 1 bottle per person/couple. You know how I like to make sure that as many people as possible get a shot at trying the rare stuff.
There will also be a Sour Brown Ale for tasting and growler fills.
There will be another updated entry when I have the full line up finalized.

Captain Lawrence Tasting With Scott Vaccaro This Saturday March 7th 2-6
This Saturday Brewmaster Scott Vaccaro of Captain Lawrence Brewing http://www.captainlawrencebrewing.com/home.html will be here from 2:00-6:00 to pour some samples of his fine beers, and tell us all about them. I am not sure yet what we will have on hand, but we will have at least 4 beers on tap as well as at least 3 bottled beers. Being the first place in Suffolk County to serve Captain Lawrence on the Growler station, Scott may bring something special for us.
If any of you recall, Mike R., one of our favorite characters, introduced us to Captain Lawrence back in December 2007. He was kind enough to help me arrange it with Scott that he could pick up a couple of kegs from the brewery for us to tap. It quickly became a favorite, and a staple of the growler station in regular rotation. You all know how much I love the Smoked Porter.
It should be the usual good time we have at our tastings. Scott is a great guy who really loves his craft, and enjoys being amongst us beerfolk! I'm not sure if I will be lighting the BBQ, but you will know in advance if you check back here for the info.
