This Past Saturdays Brooklyn Tasting

On Saturday Feb. 16, Joe Mollura From Brooklyn Brewery came down and spent a few hours pouring samples and answering questions for us. He did a great job explaining what he was pouring for everyone, as well as matching beers to the tastes of those who had never had any of Brooklyn's beers before.
Joe handled the questions & samples with a smile. It is always great to have a representative that looks comfortable in the little corner that I make for them.
I saw some of the Beer Advocate, www.beeradvocate.com  RateBeer, www.ratebeer.com and LIBME http://malt.donavanhall.net/ guys there, as well as some of my regulars and regular blog readers. I also saw J.P. and his buddies from West Point. Everyone seemed to have a good time tasting & talking good beer.
Rich & Donavan showed up with about 15 minutes left in the tasting, prompting Joe to hang around a little longer. Joe was pretty pleased to have a couple of knowledgeable "Craft Beer Ambassadors" (his words) to talk to. Joe had to leave, so we sampled more as we cleaned up the tasting area. One of the best moments of the day was when I had walked away from the tasting table, only to come back to see Rich behind the table taking over the reigns from Joe. He looked like a natural back there, explaining beers & giving out some samples. He actually made a couple of sales too!
This, my friends, is why I love my store!

Always glad to help out. Rich and I had a great time. Wish we could have arrived earlier. So much beer, so little time. Our visit that day is immortalized on episode #108 of my podcast (radiobeerhall.com). Cheers!
