For first time since I started filling Growlers, I have an open tap.
Any off-the-wall suggestions?

As far as I know, they have no NY distribution yet. I will however, check further into it for you.

You really want off the wall? Well, last week I had a beer in Manhattan I really liked; it's Couckelaerschen Doedel from Strubbe in Ichtegem. In case you want the full story, I put a post on "The Angler" (http://angler.donavanhall.net/). It's complex and has a nose of verjus.

I'll see what I can find out about its distribution. That would be an awesome addition.
Great post to the angler by the way, your writing style is excellent. I kinda felt like I was sitting on the other side of the guy, watching your expressions.

Hey Dave, I'm gona be out your way this weekend for the blue point cask ales fest and plan on having a beer party later that night out in hampton bays. Seeing as your store was right on the way I'd love to come in and check out your stock. Do you have any suggestions? A few i had in mind were, Troegs Nugget Nectar, Lagunitas Imperial Red or Copper, Stone Oaked Bastard or RIS(which i cant find anywhere), Goose Island Bourbon County, Victory Baltic thunder(price on that?) or Old Horizontal...Cheers,

hey Dave, I don't mean to contradict, but I thought Stone was making the Oaked a year round offering. I am not doubting that your distributor is out, but that is what I had heard.
Also since the Cask Festival is so close to your store you should try and get something from Captain Lawrence since Scott will be making the trip down this weekend (though obviously I do not know if he will have room to transport any more kegs)
Any chance of AleSmith going on tap. I know they recently began distributing into NY, though limited. Their IPA would be a treat

Hi Steve,
Not a problem. I like to be challenged on things. it makes me dig deeper. Just to be sure I was not giving bad info. I made a call. Apparently it is being brewed 2-3 times a year. So, though not a seasonal, it is not always available. It may sit around at some of the distributors for a while though, due to it's hefty price tag. Union Beer, who distributes to L.I. ran out about 2 weeks ago, as did I. You should be able to pick it up somewhere. If you want, I can ask some of my friends who have retail stores.
As far as Captain Lawrence goes, I have been filling growlers of IPA & Smoked Porter for a few months here. I also stock some 750's as they become available. They are out of IPA right now, but Scott told me it will be ready in a week or two.
Alesmith on tap?? Dunno. I will check it out though.
